As we've mentioned a few times, the best barrier and run style combination at Flemington is settling midfield. Specifically, wide barriers (8+) outperform the market by 19%!

A lot of short priced favorites early in the card, however the ratings have them on top for us and we are betting with confidence.

Meanwhile, horses that push forward from inside barriers (1-3) underperform by 33% on a significant sample.

At Randwick, horses from inside barriers that settle back outperform the market by 17%.

The jockey data is less clear cut as three standouts beat the market by big margins over their Randwick careers:
